Learn more about NMU

If you're just starting the information-gathering phase of the college search, you're in the right place. This site provides details about Northern Michigan University's academics, student life, cost and more. You can also request information, if you'd like to receive information in the mail about your child's academic interests.

Students on campus tour

Visit campus

Often the best way to feel sure about a college is to spend time walking around campus and getting your questions answered in person. At Northern, we have two helpful ways to schedule visits. Wildcat Weekend is an open house designed for high school students and their parents. If you can't make one of our Wildcat Weekend dates, you can also schedule an individualized visit at a time that is convenient for you.

Connect with our staff that is located near you

We have admissions counselors who are located throughout the region and they are available to meet with you and your son or daughter or answer any questions you might have. Our admissions counselors are visiting local high schools and college fairs.

We know your student's health is important to you. Their physical, mental and academic health are important to us too. Check out this amazing panel we just recorded where you can learn all about the support your student will receive at NMU.

Additional Resources for Parents

If you can't find an answer to a specific question, please feel free to e-mail the admissions staff and an NMU staff member will respond as quickly as possible. We also invite you to subscribe to the Parent Partnership Newsletters.
