Week of Diversity in STEM

During the week of February 6-10, 2023, events and activities were presented that highlighted and celebrated the many, often unacknowledged, ways that people from diverse walks of life contribute to STEM disciplines (i.e., science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).  Our goal was to make diversity in STEM more visible within the community in hopes of inspiring greater appreciation and recognition of these contributions.

In conjunction with Diversity in STEM Week, the Biology Department sponsored the Diversity in STEM Art Contest in collaboration with the Lydia M. Olson Library!  Cash prizes were awarded!

We also held the Diversity in STEM Snow Sculpture Contest!  Entries ranged from an octopus doing science to bears fishing together.  See some pictures below!
