A.      Minutes:

 

 1.     That the minutes of the April 22, 2014 and May 1, 2014 meeting of the Board be approved.

 

 

B.      Gifts of Property:

 

1.    Gift to the Department of Education, Leadership and Public Service from Patricia Sarvello, Gwinn, MI 55 gallon aquarium, metal stand, Vacuum system, filters, rocks, and supplies. ($250 value)

2.    Gift to the Department of Technology and Occupational Sciences from LSCP Foundation, Marquette, MI, 1966 International Tiltbed Trailer.  ($800 value)

 

3.    Gift to the Department of Technology and Occupational Sciences from Wisconsin Public Service Corp., Green Bay, WI, 1979 Chilton Material Trailer and 1980 Utility Material Trailer.  ($800 value)

4.    Gift to the Department of Engineering Technology from Curt Tucker, Saginaw, MI, 1 piece suit (2), 1 helmet support, 10 NMU Baja Racing Team Logo Hoodies.  ($834.50 value)

5.    Gift to the School of Art and Design from Mrs. Bud Williams, Marquette, MI, 3000 lbs blacksmithing coke. ($900 value)

 

6.    Gift to the Department of Facilities/Finance and Administration, from M Bank, Birmingham, MI, office furnishings. ($11,400 value)  Correction from May 1, 2014 formal recommendations)

3.        Genovese, Paula, Instructor, School of Clinical Sciences a continuing appointment, effective  August 20, 2014.  (Term to Continuing)

4.        Mann, Paul, Assistant Professor, School of Clinical Sciences, a tenure-track appointment, effective August 23, 2014.  (New Appointment)

5.        Reed, Cheryl Lynn, Assistant Professor, Department of English, a tenure track appointment, effective August 20, 2014.  (New Appointment)

Emeritus:

 

 10    Ms. Theresa Nease be granted the status of Executive Assistant to the President and Secretary of the Board of Trustees emeritus effective July 1, 2014.

 

E.      Property and Finance

 

1.        The Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) tuition rate of $625 per credit hour, and the DNP program fee of $12.50 per *semester credit hour be approved.
  The tuition and fee covers the costs associated with the instructional costs, equipment, supplies, and simulators.  The University Fee and Student
  Activity Fee will not apply to this program.  (This is a correction from the May formals)

2.        The Student Athletic Fee be increased by $10, which would increase the fee to $235, effective Fall 2014 semester.

3.        A course fee of $25 per lab be charged to all students taking an Athletic Training Lab.  The fee will cover the cost of medical supplies and equipment.

 

F.      Special Items: 

 

1.        The Department of Communications and the Department of Marketing be reorganized as follows:

 

·       The two departments be combined into one, and the name changed to the Office of Identity, Brand and Marketing.

·       The Department of Identity, Brand and Marketing to report to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services.  (The Communications Department previously reported to the President, and the Marketing Department previously reported to the Vice President for Advancement.)
