FORMAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY – Marquette, Michigan

A.     Minutes:

 1.     That the minutes of the September 23, 2016 and October 28, 2016 meetings of the Board be approved.

B.     Personnel Actions: 

Appointments:

1. Winn, Robert, J., Interim Dean, College of Arts and Sciences, a term appointment, effective January 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018.  (Transfer)

Emeritus:

1. Dr. Phillip B. Watts, be granted the status of Professor Emeritus of Sport and Exercise Science, effective January 1, 2017.

C. Degrees

1. The August 2016 final list of graduates and the December 2016 preliminary list of graduates, be approved.  A copy of the lists are on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

D.     Property and Finance:

1. That the resolution of the Board of Trustees of Northern Michigan University authorizing the one-day event liquor licenses as follows be approved:

April 24, 2017	Hospitality Management’s Main Event	Jacobetti Complex	12:00 p.m.
May 24, 2017	Dancing with the Stars Event	C. B. Hedgcock Service Center	12:00 p.m.
May 25, 2017	Dancing with the Stars Event	C. B. Hedgcock Service Center	12:00 p.m.

2. That a $50.00 non-refundable residence hall reservation fee be established.

E.     Special Items:

1. That the Investment Policy Statement for the Endowment Fund be approved.  A copy of the policy statement is on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

2. That the addition of a new Medicinal Plant Chemistry Bachelor of Science program be approved, effective Fall 2017.

3. That the following individuals be appointed as board members for the following public school academies:

George Crockett Academy
