Faculty may be assigned additional responsibilities such as curriculum coordination or outcomes assessment activities.

Professional Development Funds

Increases funding from current level of $900 per faculty member to $900/$925/$930 in the three years of the contract.

Increases funding from current level of $30,000 per year to $35,000 per year for each year of the contract.

Minimum Salaries

The minimum salary for each rank will be increased by 0.75% in year one; 1% in year two, and 3.25% in year three.

An increase of 0.75% in year one effective January 1, 2004; 1% in year two, and 3.25% in year three effective July 1 for Ongoing faculty members.

Promotions

Faculty members who receive promotions will have their base salaries increased 0.75% in year one, 1% in year two, and 3.25% in year three.

Enrollment Bonus

Bonus paid to Ongoing faculty based on increase in student credit hours in 2004-05 and 2005-06; a maximum of 0.75% per year.

MOU to designate a study group to undertake a market study in academic year 2004-05 to address salary compression.

Additional Assignments

Effective January 1, 2004, all additional on-campus teaching assignments will be compensated at the current contract rate with the maximum amount per credit hour of $1,315 in 2003-2004, $1,328 in 2004-2005, and $1,371 in 2005-2006.  These represent increases of 0.75%, 1%, and 3.5% in the three respective years of the contract.

9.1.4.3

Directed Studies

Effective January 1, 2004, all directed studies will be compensated at a rate per credit hour of $80 in 2003-04, $82 in 2004-05, and $84 in 2005-06 for an undergraduate course and $107 in 2003-04, $109 in 2004-05, and $113 in

2005-06 per credit hour for a graduate course.

9.1.4.4

Direction of Graduate Research, Practicum, and Theses

Faculty load and compensation for the direction of graduate research, practicum, and theses has been added to the contract.  Rates effective January 1, 2004.

 

9.1.5.1

Off-campus Courses

Effective January 1, 2004, off-campus extension and field courses will be compensated at the current contract rate with the maximum amount per credit hour of $1,315 in 2003-04, $1,328 in 2004-05, and $1,371 in 2005-06.  These represent increases of 0.75%, 1%, and 3.5% in the three respective years of the contract.

9.1.6

Summer College Assignments

Effective with summer 2004, Summer College assignments will be compensated at the current contract rate with the maximum amount per credit hour of $1,698 in 2003-04, $1,715 in 2004-05, and $1,770 in 2005-06.  These represent increases of 0.75%, 1%, and 3.5% in the three respective years of the contract.

9.2

Hospitalization and Medical Benefits

-Increases the University’s contribution for hospitalization and medical benefits to fall in line with other employee groups.  The employee contribution was increased each year of the contract. 

9.2.3

Long-Term Disability

Clarified the return to work language for faculty who were on long-term disability.

9.2.7

Recreation Membership

Faculty member is provided the option of the current single recreation membership or a single Superior Dome Walking Pass.

9.2.12

Prescription Drug Program

Inserts current MOU language into the contract to describe increased prescription drug co-pays. 

9.1.14

Optical Benefits

Effective as soon as practicable, the University agrees to contribute the full cost per faculty member of a two-person or family plan premium.

9.2.16

Parking Fees

New language which allows faculty to receive one parking decal at no cost and have the cost of an additional parking decal fees to be deducted from their payroll check on a pre-tax basis.

9.2.17

Taxable Benefits

The University will abide by state and federal laws regarding the taxability of fringe benefits.
