NMU Launches New Degree in Social Media Design Management
The School of Art & Design and College of Business are offering an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree starting in fall 2019. The program will provide students with a range of skills, including design theory, design media production, public relations, and marketing for the current digital media era.
Students completing this program will be able to manage the online social identity/branding of a company, understanding and reaching customers, creating high-quality media, and effective marketing messages. Graduates will be attractive to a wide range of companies due to their diversity of skill sets.
While the degree prepares students for a variety of job titles, such as digital engagement specialist, social media strategist and online community manager, across several fields, it is a rapidly evolving and growing area with many employment possibilities. NMU students will also be able to utilize a range of electives to expand their knowledge to suit their interests and find a good personal fit in a diverse job market.
