To celebrate a season of fun in the snow, the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center announces the opening of its new exhibition, “It’s All Downhill: Alpine Skiing in the U.P.” This fun, multi-media exhibition will open on Saturday, January 21 at 12 p.m. It will be on display until April 1 and is free and open to the public. The Beaumier Center is located in Gries Hall at the corner of 7th St.
The time to apply for NMU Foundation donor-funded scholarships for the 2023 – 2024 academic year begins on Monday, January 23, 2023, and continues through Monday, February 20, 2023.
Design thinking is for everyone. It is a systematic approach to innovation and creative problem-solving that can be used in many disciplines. This design thinking training integrates the method and process of design thinking to solve a local problem. This training is for all majors from all disciplines.
Join NMU faculty Professor Lynn Domina as she speaks with author Shelly Puhak about her nonfiction debut, The Dark Queens; the remarkable, little-known story of two trailblazing women in the Early Middle Ages who wielded immense power, only to be vilified for daring to rule.
The Faculty Biennial Exhibition celebrates the innovative research by faculty in the NMU School of Art & Design. The exhibition highlights diverse achievements in all media and concentrations and gives regional audiences from NMU and beyond the opportunity to see original artwork created by the current faculty.

Our first jazz concert of the year, featuring our Jazz Combo and Jazz Ensemble! In this concert, we have a diverse crew, as our jazz ensembles are directed by Mark Flaherty, Patrick Booth, and Dave Ziegner! Come see the show on February 17th at 7:30 p.m.! This concert is free and open to the public.
