Health Center
If you are injured or ill, visit the Vielmetti Health Center is on the ground floor of Gries Hall. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 906-227-2355. Check out their website to see what services are offered. Care is provided by highly qualified, board-certified physicians specializing in internal medicine and family practice.
PEIF
The Physical Education Instructional Facility, more commonly called the PEIF (Pronounced "peef"), opened in 1976. The facility houses a pool, which is home to the NMU swimming and diving team, and Vandament Arena, where the Wildcat volleyball team plays.
The PEIF has a two-level recreation center, complete with a large climbing wall, weight room, cardiovascular area, two basketball courts, two lounge areas, a spinning room, and an area to rent sports equipment. There are seven racquetball courts, a dance studio, athletic training facilities, locker rooms, and classrooms, as well as an auxiliary gymnasium that the Wildcat men’s and women’s basketball teams use for practice.
