2020 Alpine Team

About the Team

The Alpine Ski Team is a great venue for ski and snowboard racers to continue racing throughout their collegiate years and to meet people with a similar interest. The Alpine team competes in the USCSA where we’re part of the Lake Superior Division. Our season starts in early January and consists of five to six races across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Our team hosts the Regional race that is held at Marquette Mountain every year, which is a fun way to end the season. We have been fortunate enough for the last nine years NMU Alpine has had representatives at Nationals, which are located at Lake Placid, New York or Bend, Oregon. Between practices and races, our team strives to have a strong relationship with all members on and off the hill. Team get-togethers, volunteer work, and fundraising are all ways for members to get involved and give back to the community, while keeping a fun atmosphere around the club.

No racing experience is required, although it is recommended to have some skiing experience. We do not have coaches as this is student run. Snowboarders and Freestyle skiers are welcome to join we do have events for you as well!
