Sandra Burr (English) presented two papers on varying aspects of late 18th- and early 19th-century transatlantic children’s science books:  "Transatlantic Sisterhoods: Maria Edgeworth, the Beauforts, and Their North American Correspondents" at the annual international conference for the Transatlantic Studies Association, held at Ireland’s University College Cork; and "Connecting the Disconnected: Positioning Girls at the Forefront of Transatlantic Natural Philosophy in the Long Eighteenth Century" at the annual conference for the Northeastern American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, held at Dartmouth College.
