Gavin Leach (Finance and Administration), Dave Maki, John Marra and Don Salo (Information Technology) presented "Expanding the Campus Wireless Network Utilizing WiMAX" at the Association for Information Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education (ACUTA) Winter Seminar held Jan. 9-12 in Phoenix, Ariz. The presentation explained how NMU planned and deployed a private mobile WiMAX network in Marquette and six surrounding cities and townships, providing about 32 square miles of WiMAX coverage utilizing the notebook computers to supply equal access to broadband to all students as part of tuition.
