C.     Degrees

 

1.         The December 2021 final list of graduates and the May 2022 preliminary list of graduates be approved.  A copy of the lists is on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

 

D.     Property and Finance:

 

1.         That the room and board rates for fiscal year 2023 be approved.  A copy of the proposed room and board rate schedule is on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

 

2.         That the University operations be authorized to continue in 2022-2023 at a budget level no greater than the 2021-2022 budget until the new Auxiliary Operations Budget is approved, except for increases required by existing or newly negotiated union contracts.

 

3.         That the University operations be authorized to continue in 2022-2023 at a budget level no greater than the 2021-2022 budget until the new Housing and Residence Life Budget is approved, except for increases required by existing or newly negotiated union contracts.

 

4.         That the University operations be authorized to continue in 2022-2023 at a budget level no greater than the 2021-2022 budget until the new General Fund Budget is approved, except for increases required by existing or newly negotiated union contracts.

 

5.         That the University operations be authorized to continue in 2022-2023 at a budget level no greater than the 2021-2022 budget until the new Designated Fund Budget is approved, except for increases required by existing or newly negotiated union contracts.

8.         That the rental agreement between Northern Michigan University and The State of Michigan, Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, for the Department of Attorney General, from June 1, 2022 through May 31, 2023, located in Suites 1201 and 1202 of the Northern Center, be approved.  A copy of the rental agreement and resolution is on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

 

9.         That the Board of Trustees of Northern Michigan University confirm approval for the upcoming academic year Technology, Learning, and Communication (TLC) notebook program annual purchase of 650 additional ThinkPad T14, model 20XL and 150 ThinkPad P15s, Gen 2, model 20W7 (to include warranty, engineering services, software imaging, and shipping costs).  Additionally, 180 Apple MacBook Pro units will be ordered.

 

10.      That the sale of property and structure located at 1440 Center Street, Marquette, MI 49855, Kaye House, be approved.

 

11.      That the contract signing authority be updated to include the Director of Research Development and Sponsored Programs as an authorized signed for grant applications.

 

E.     Special Items:

3.         That the Kinesiology and Exercise Oncology Research Laboratory be renamed the “Health and Human Performance Research Laboratory,” effective immediately.

 

4.         That the “Center for Forensic Anthropology” be created to encompass all aspects of Forensic Anthropology, including the Forensic Research Outdoor Station (FROST), Forensic Anthropology Research Laboratory (FARL), the Body Donation Program, and the associated forensic programs, effective immediately.

 

5.         That Northern Michigan University reauthorize (renew) the following Charter School Academy:

·       South Pointe Scholars Public School Academy for a term of five years from July 1, 2022 to June 20, 2027.

 

6.         That the following revised policies be approved.  Copies of the policies are on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

·       Freshman Admissions Policy.  Removing ACT/SAT score requirements

·       International Admissions Policy.  Removing certification of finance documents as a condition for admission.

·       International Admissions Policy.  Adding successful completion of English Language Institute as another acceptable demonstration of English language proficiency.

·       Transfer Credit Policy.  Increase the number of credits transferred from regionally accredited community colleges from 64 to 90 credit hours.

·       Voluntary Psychological Withdrawal.  Incorporating inclusive pronouns.

·       Drop Policy.  Extend the course withdrawal date to the end of the 15th week.

·       Incomplete Grade Policy.  Updating the withdrawal language to reflect changes to the Drop Policy.

 

7.     That the revised Non-Represented Employee Handbook be approved.
