Meet Alexandra (Lexi) Hagan, a Management major and Computer Science minor from Iron Mountain, MI. Lexi plans to graduate in the Fall of 2024.

Very affordable education and I wanted to have access to nature.

I decided to Major in Business Management in order to gain a broad overview of how to effectively run a business. Because almost everything is a business, I thought this could be very beneficial. I decided to minor in computer science after I enjoyed one of my first computer science classes as a freshman. I continued the minor and hope to use that knowledge in creating effective business systems.

An interesting part of my major was that I created and managed a small sticker business with a group of students as part of one of my classes. To promote the product, I was interviewed on TV6. Another helpful thing was applying to the Rural Leadership Development Fellowship. With this, I am able to gain real life experience in community development and I am able to find ways to connect my coursework to real life projects.

I play inter-mural volleyball, enjoy going to the PEIF, and love long walks along the lake. I am also a member of PRSSA where I went to Nashville Tennessee for a conference where I learned about Diversity and touched on the expansion of AI. I hope to attend more of these conferences in the future.

Being a Wildcat means being able to connect with your professors on a deeper level and being able to create valuable relationships with your peers.

I am thankful I chose NMU.
