McKenna Sanford

Meet McKenna Sanford, a Communications and Media Studies major from Traverse City, MI. McKenna plans to graduate in 2024.

I loved the recreational activities here and the sense of community.

I landed on Communications and Media Studies (CAMS) because of the breadth of opportunities involved in the program. I also liked that it gives opportunities for my creative side to be paired with my business side

Being a CAMS is a very social degree. It has forced me to be open to meeting so many new kinds of people and gaining perspectives from a multitude of communities here in marquette. I love the stories I have heard and the people I have met because of CAMS.

I am very involved in the recreational activities in the area such as skiing and mountain biking. Here on campus I just started a position as a marketing assistant and I have joined the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) this year.

Being a Wildcat to me means being a strong assets to the community and student body. It means being creative, strong, a good friend, and adventurous.

I have loved my experience here at NMU because it is a school that is so involved in the community. I can definitely say I have found my confidence here while also having so much fun. NMU has fostered a great environment for me to explore the strongholds of my personality.
