Jon Barch, University of Iowa Ph.D., Assistant Professor, leads the Experimental Social Psychology lab with research focused on intrinsic motivation, interpersonal relationships, implicit/explicit race and gender bias, optimism, and moral development. His applied social psychology research interests focus on academic motivation, student-teacher relationships, family dynamics, workplace leadership, and the scholarship of teaching in online and face-to-face classrooms. Jon and his wife Maggie have three children and enjoy their family time at their cabin on Helen Lake. Jon’s hobbies include snowboarding, wakeboarding, mountain biking, gardening, and home improvement projects.
