Virtual Tutoring

For a virtual tutoring session: Click on the corresponding time in the online calendar below. The Zoom waiting room will appear, and the tutor will provide access when they're available. Tutors will be accessible in Zoom during the times listed below:
For inclement weather: Unless otherwise noted, virtual tutoring will also be canceled if school is canceled due to inclement weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

We currently offer free tutoring both in-person and virtually in American Sign Language (ASL), French, German, Russian, and Spanish.

Tutors are available for assistance with homework questions, essay review, test prep, and conversation practice. 

No. Tutoring is available on a first come, first served basis. As tutors for each language are limited, it is important that you review the tutoring schedule before your visiting the Language Resource Center, as well as receiving online tutoring. If you need to review an assignment with a tutor, please be sure to leave yourself plenty of time before the assignment due date.

In-person tutoring: No. If Northern cancels classes due to inclement weather, our in-person tutoring shifts in the Language Resource Center are also canceled.

Virtual tutoring: Yes. Unless otherwise noted, virtual tutoring will still be available if classes are canceled due to inclement weather.
