First Generation Day Celebration
NMU will use Monday, November 8 as a day to applaud the efforts of first-gen students. We hope all first-gen students, faculty, and staff will gather with us at the wildcat statue outside of Jamrich to honor the hard fought success of all first-gen students. Immediately following the 5:00 pm wildcat moment, all in attendance are invited to join us for pizza, cookies, and gluten-free and vegan snacks in the Hedgcock Atrium. In addition, at noon in Harden Hall (Room 224), a panel of currently-enrolled first-gen students will share their experiences through the IDEA forum, coordinated through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Center for Teaching and Learning.
