Tuition & Fees Overview

NMU is ranked as one of the best providers of educational value in Michigan. We offer installment payment plans, and most students receive some financial aid. Our goal is to minimize the barriers to a rich education.

Tuition and fees for full-time students include the use of a ThinkPad notebook computer for all full-time students (12 credits or more a semester). MacBooks are provided for students declaring Art and Design as their primary major for an additional fee.

Flat-Rate Tuition Program

NMU operates under a "flat-rate" tuition plan, which means students can enroll in anywhere from 12 to 16 credits per semester for one flat rate. Fewer or more credits  (1-11 or 16+ credits) are charged at a per-credit rate.

There are differing tuition costs for lower-division undergraduate courses (100- and 200- level) than upper-division (300 level+). Explore the information on this page for the most up-to-date tuition information.
