This course acquaints students with various aspects of child-family-school-community relations, such as parent-teacher communication, parental involvement in children’s care and education, family diversity, community influences on children, advocacy for children and families, effects of government and social policies on children and families, community agency programs for children and families, and special issues impacting children, families, early childhood programs, and communities (e.g., special needs, poverty, immigration).
