CIS 464 Database Management Systems 4 cr. Survey of the applied database systems topics. Emphasis is on relational databases—logical design, physical design and SQL. Hierarchical, network, object-oriented and object-relational models are also considered. Supporting topics include entity-relationship model, database administration, data dictionaries/catalogs, backup/recovery, concurrency control, database security, distributed database, client/server database, data warehousing and data mining.
