NAS 287 The Legal and Political History of Michigan Indian Education 2 cr. Students will examine the legal and political history of Indian education within the State of Michigan. Designed for students interested in Indian education programs, the course covers pre-colonial considerations, early colonial policy, treaties with education provisions, the boarding school era, and self-determination/self-education efforts.
