Survey and critical analysis of contemporary novels and poetry in English by aboriginal writers of North America. Development and influences will be considered. Earlier works may be included for comparative purposes. Notes:

A student who has taken EN 311Z Native Canadian Literature may take either EN 316 or EN 317 but not both.
