BI 240 Conservation Biology 4 cr. Introduction to the basic scientific principles and concepts concerning the field of conservation biology. Topics include causes of extinction, genetic risks of small populations, habitat fragmentation and edge effects, metapopulations, threats of exotic species, nature preserve and corridor design, and strategies for protecting and restoring endangered species and ecosystems.
