This course is designed to cover the theory and techniques of clinical molecular and cytogenetic diagnostic techniques. Topics include clinical applications of nucleic acid amplification techniques, microarrays and sequencing methods. The course also includes cytogenetic techniques used to detect genetic disease. This is a combined lecture laboratory course. The course is designed for all CLS majors and for Biology or Biochemistry majors interested in diagnostic applications.
