This course provides a(n): (1) evolutionary anatomical history of vertebrate brain structures, (2) lectures and laboratory exploring the anatomical divisions of the vertebrate brain and spinal cord, and (3) a survey of how brain structure and function relates to vertebrate behavior.

An introduction to basic electricity concepts including both DC and AC circuits. Course content will include topics on safety, tools, conductors, insulators, series and parallel circuits, electromagnetism and electric power. Theory will be reinforced by practical laboratory experimentation emphasizing the use of basic electrical testing equipment.

This course will introduce students to various applied technical math concepts required to analyze and study topics of the industrial maintenance field. Topics will include fractions, measurement, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, graphs, and statistics. Topics are presented at the introductory level with an emphasis on applications.

This required workshop is for students enrolled in EN 090, Developmental Composition. Students will participate in weekly, faculty-supervised, tutor-led workshops. All grading and arrangement of workshops will be done by the faculty member.

This course is designed to meet the training needs for both the Advanced Firefighter/Squad Boss and Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5) on wildfires. Meets National Wildfire Coordinating Group requirements for S-131 and S-244. APC granted for NWCG certificates in S-131 and S-244 inclusive.

This is an introductory course in fireline leadership, designed as a self-assessment tool for individuals preparing to step into a leadership role. Meets National Wildfire Coordinating Group requirements for L-280. APC granted for NWCG L-280.

The purpose of the course is to visit and use historical fatality wildland fire sites as a learning tool to help fireline decision makers avoid making similar mistakes in the future.

Requires a field trip to the site of a fatal wildland fire. Additional fees required.

Instruction for basic aviation safety, aircraft types and capabilities, aviation management, tactical and logistical uses of aircraft, and requirements for helicopter take-off and landing areas.
