Intermediate Fire Behavior

RE 272 Intermediate Fire Behavior 2 cr.  (2-0-0)

Instruction for prospective wildland firefighters in wildland fire behavior for safe and effective fire management operations. Meets National Wildfire Coordinating Group requirements for S-290 and S-133. APC granted for NWCG certificates in S-290 and S-133 inclusive.

Introduction to Networks and Security

CIS 226 Introduction to Networks and Security 4 cr. This is a general introduction to the next generation of operating system technology and information security. The course covers descriptions and workings of network hardware and software components, the operation and management of a computer network, the need for information security, performing a risk assessment, and elements of a security program including the security plan and security tools. The topics of computer and network forensic investigations on network operating systems will be covered.

Folk Dance as a Cultural Experience

PE 205A Folk Dance as a Cultural Experience 1 cr. Focuses on understanding movement and music as it relates to understanding a culture or cultures. Students will learn about folk dance from a perspective of cultural and cross-cultural communications, societal purposes of dance, body language, etiquette and rhythmic expression.

Advanced Multimedia Journalism

BC 300 Advanced Multimedia Journalism 4 cr.

This course will involve advanced research techniques to help journalists uncover information beyond that provided by official sources. Advanced Multimedia Journalism will also offer opportunities to improve writing and aesthetic production skills obtained in Introduction to Multimedia Journalism.

Theatre and Entertainment Arts Capstone

TH 480 Theatre and Entertainment Arts Capstone 1 cr.

An individually-designed project to be approved in advance by the theatre faculty, TH 480 will concentrate upon the preparation of a professional portfolio/employment presentation appropriate to the student’s area or areas of expertise. Project may culminate in a performance.
