World Cultures: Social Sciences

HON 302 World Cultures: Social Sciences 4 cr.

 

Critical reading and comparative analysis will be used to explore a non-western European culture from a social science perspective. The discipline (anthropology, economics, geography, health, history, political science, and/or sociology) through which a specific culture and its people are explored will vary with faculty expertise.

HON 301 World Cultures: A Humanities Perspective 4 cr.

Critical reading and comparative analysis will be used to explore a non-western European culture from a humanities perspective. The discipline through which a specific culture and its people are explored will vary with faculty expertise.

Great Works in German Literature

GR 320 Great Works in German Literature 4 cr. This survey course offers selections of renowned German, Austrian, and Swiss literary texts in their cultural and historical contexts. The selections represent multiple genres and literary movements from Medieval to Modernity. Notes:

GR 320 is taught in German.

Hospitality Management Creativity & Innovation (Disney)

HM 257 Hospitality Management Creativity & Innovation (Disney) 3 cr.

Introduces students to the main concepts of creativity and innovation which are crucially important to individuals, organizations, and the entrepreneurial process. Students will learn various tools to establish a culture of creativity within an organization.

Marketing You: Personal and Career Development (Disney)

HM 256 Marketing You: Personal and Career Development (Disney) 3 cr.

Defines a personal brand for career marketing and encourages focusing techniques for students who do not have clear career objectives. Designed to maximize the Disney college program internship experiences, and prior/subsequent work experience. Students will also learn interviewing techniques.

Organizational Leadership for the Hospitality Industry (Disney)

HM 254 Organizational Leadership for the Hospitality Industry (Disney) 3 cr.

Examines principles of leadership making specific application to the Disney culture. Designed to build transferable knowledge and skills in community and commerce. Delivered by a subject-matter expert in the field of leadership through lectures, group discussions, self-assessment, and project development.
