Anatomical Kinesiology

ES 317 Anatomical Kinesiology 3 cr.  (2-0-2)

Human motion from both an anatomical and a mechanical perspective will be addressed. Specific attention is placed on the musculoskeletal system and the description of human movement. Focus on the student’s mastery of motion analysis necessary for medical, fitness, and educational professionals involved in providing instruction and information to the physically active.

Insurance Operations

FIN 433 Insurance Operations 4 cr.

Property and casualty insurance company operations; topics include insurance financials, property underwriting, liability underwriting, insurance pricing, liability and property claims; loss control practices, marketing and selling insurance, reinsurance, management, and strategic planning. This course covers the inner workings of the industry.

Commercial Insurance

FIN 375 Commercial Insurance 4 cr.

Commercial property and liability insurance lines; includes commercial property, business-owners policy, commercial liability, workers’ compensation, professional liability, environmental and aviation liability insurance. Course helps prepare students for the INS 23 national examination administered by the insurance institute of America.

Introduction to Risk Management

FIN 201 Introduction to Risk Management 4 cr.

Introduction to risk management; including: insurance, loss exposure, regulation, insurance carriers, reinsurance, marketing, underwriting, and claims adjusting. This course helps prepare students for the INS 21 national examination administered by the Insurance Institute of America.

Advanced Machine Operations

MF 249 Advanced Machine Operations 4 cr.  (2-0-4)

Introduction to advanced machining and turning operations. Turning operations will include the use of lathe dogs, 4-jawed chucks, boring bars and thread cutting tools. Milling operations will include advanced fixture design, fixture manufacturing, gear cutting, radius cutting, and angle milling.
