Secondary Education History Minor

Students with a minor in secondary education history must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or greater overall, in the major, and/or minor(s) with no grade below a "B-" in the professional education sequence and no grade below a "C" in the major and/or minor(s).

Completion of this major’s required courses and the professional education sequence leads to certification as a secondary school teacher in social studies.

Geographic Information Science & Technology (GIST) Major

The Geographic Information Science & Technology (GIST) Major provides students with knowledge and skills related to geographic information systems, geospatial technology, information technology, spatial data management, analysis, and visualization.

As a requirement for graduation, all non-teaching earth, environmental and geographical sciences department majors must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.25 for all courses constituting the major curriculum. Exceptions must be requested via petition to the department's appeal committee.
