Art History Minor

The art history minor offers a unique combination of art history classes that address the varied interests of students. All courses within the minor are taught in a way that is relevant to the art major as well as the general student population.

Art and Design Minor

The art and design minor offers students the opportunity to develop studio skills, concepts and ideology in any of the department's area concentrations. Studio work emphasizes technical, compositional/design, and conceptual aspects of visual art. A single area focus can be selected or students can elect to take courses from multiple areas.

Human Biology Minor

A minor in human biology provides students with an introduction to the human body. Students who minor in human biology will have a strong introduction to the clinical sciences.

Secondary Education Biology Minor

Students with a major or minor in secondary biology education must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or greater overall, in the major, and/or minor(s) with no grade below a "B-" in the professional education sequence and no grade below a "C" in the major and/or minor(s).

Secondary Education Biology Major

Successful completion of this major’s biology courses and the professional education sequence lead to certification as a secondary school teacher in biology. A minor in chemistry education is recommended. Advising for this major is provided by the School of Education.

Multimedia Journalism Major

The Multimedia Journalism major will help students acquire the writing and research skills necessary for providing audiences with compelling and relevant stories in a variety of media formats. Students will learn how to create content for broadcast, magazines, newspapers and online publications. In addition to receiving intensive writing instruction, students will gain an understanding of the technical, aesthetic and legal elements of this field.

All department majors must maintain a 2.50 grade point average in the major and earn at least a “C-” in all major courses that are required for graduation, unless otherwise noted.
