This course provides an introduction to solar-powered energy systems. Both photovoltaic and thermal applications of solar energy will be studied. Course topics include fundamental concepts, system design, sizing, site selection and applications.

Probate Law For Paralegals

PS 363 Probate Law For Paralegals 4 cr.

This course introduces the basics of estate planning and bequeathing property through wills and trusts, along with the Uniform Probate Code and other laws and procedures involved, with emphasis on the paralegal’s role.

Real Estate and Property Law for Paralegals

PS 362 Real Estate and Property Law for Paralegals 4 cr.

This course presents fundamental concepts of real property law with emphasis on the paralegal’s role. Topics include the nature of real property, rights and duties of ownership, land use, voluntary and involuntary conveyances, and the recording of and searching for real estate documents.

Legal Research and Writing

PS 109 Legal Research and Writing 4 cr.

This course provides the student with an understanding of the law library as well as the use, organization, and interrelationships of the various legal research tools. Students develop skills in researching various legal problems.  In addition, clear, concise legal writing style is developed. Drafting of legal memorandums and legal briefs is emphasized. Students will learn to draft letters, opinions, and other legal documents.
