Orthopedic Assessment I

ATR 420 Orthopedic Assessment I 4 cr.  (3-0-2)

Techniques used in the evaluation of athletic injuries to the foot, ankle, knee, hip and lower spinal region. Emphasis is placed on taking a medical history, performing a medical observation, physical palpation, functional and special testing, and injury pathology and injury epidemiology. Techniques and concepts are presented with a strong focus on the importance of the use of an evidence-based approach to orthopedic assessment practices.

Professional Nursing Practice (Clinical)

NU 454 Professional Nursing Practice (Clinical) 3 cr.  (0-0-6)

This course will focus on applying and integrating knowledge gained in previous coursework within a primary, secondary or tertiary care setting allowing students to enhance the skills necessary to function in the professional role. The student focuses on a selected area of practice within the current health care environment.

Artificial Nails/Extensions and Repair

COS 174 Artificial Nails/Extensions and Repair 4 cr.  (1-0-6)

This course takes the student into the application of artificial nail application, the different types of products used in this application and the proper removal of the artificial nail. The student will be introduced to gels, acrylic, silk and linen wrap nail application. Proper nail tip and smoothing application will be demonstrated, along with artificial overlay of nail product. The student’s knowledge of the chemistry of products and will be stressed for the proper end result.
