Advanced German I

GR 301 Advanced German I 4 cr.

The aim of this course is to become comfortable in spoken and written German through an understanding of the culture of Germany and German-speaking countries, intending to develop students’ language abilities at the advanced level, but integrate all language skills in its approach.

Latin American Women Writers

SN 435 Latin American Women Writers 4 cr.

Students will read texts written by women throughout Latin America. They will learn about historical, political, economic, social and cultural contexts of societies that produced texts and will improve their abilities to critically read and analyze literary works.

SN 302 Advanced Spanish II 4 cr.

This course develops learner Spanish skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) as an organic whole at the Advanced level. This course and its partner (SN 301: Advanced Spanish I) undertake a comprehensive review and expansion of the Spanish grammar system.

Intermediate Fire Behavior

RE 272 Intermediate Fire Behavior 2 cr.  (2-0-0)

Instruction for prospective wildland firefighters in wildland fire behavior for safe and effective fire management operations. Meets National Wildfire Coordinating Group requirements for S-290 and S-133. APC granted for NWCG certificates in S-290 and S-133 inclusive.

Introduction to Networks and Security

CIS 226 Introduction to Networks and Security 4 cr. This is a general introduction to the next generation of operating system technology and information security. The course covers descriptions and workings of network hardware and software components, the operation and management of a computer network, the need for information security, performing a risk assessment, and elements of a security program including the security plan and security tools. The topics of computer and network forensic investigations on network operating systems will be covered.
