TE 483 Studies in Business and Industry 4 cr. Cooperative work experience to provide up-to-date technical skills in the area of specialization; includes work experience with business and industrial operations, services and materials, processes and techniques.

Humanity and Technology

TE 351 Humanity and Technology 4 cr.

This course investigates the positive and negative impacts of technology on society, including society’s response to new technology. Compelling ethical issues are examined, in engineering, public safety and health, athletic performance enhancement, weapons technology, privacy and surveillance, the Internet, and forensic technology.

Methods and Materials in Industrial Technology Education

TE 350 Methods and Materials in Industrial Technology Education 3 cr.

Techniques of teaching applied to individual, group and class instruction in industrial education. Includes organization of the school shop with special application to its function in the total school program.

Notes: May not be applied toward any non-teaching major or minor.

Women in Science and Technology

TE 261 Women in Science and Technology 4 cr.

The objective of this course is to examine and analyze issues related to women and gender in modern science and technology. It will utilize active participation and a hands-on environment to bridge several different venues of study regarding women’s issues in science and technology. By raising consciousness of the issues facing women in scientific and technological fields, it will also serve to better prepare students for the workplace.
