Writing and Announcing for Broadcast

BC 265 Writing and Announcing for Broadcast 4 cr.

Introduction to planning, writing and performance elements in electronic media production. Students write scripts for a variety of formats, including commercials, public service announcements, news, interviews and documentaries. Performance elements include diction, enunciation, pronunciation, script interpretation, microphone technique, posture, movement and expression.

Radio-TV Performance

BC 245 Radio-TV Performance 4 cr. Introduction to basic verbal and visual elements for performance on radio or television. Verbal elements include diction, enunciation, pronunciation and microphone technique. Visual elements include posture, movement and expression. Students perform announcements, news, commercials, interviews and drama.

Introduction to Mass Media

BC 165 Introduction to Mass Media 4 cr.

Examination of contemporary mass media in the United States, including the press, movies, radio, television and new mass communication technologies. These will be studied from historical, economic, social and political perspectives.

Internship in Athletic Training

ATR 499 Internship in Athletic Training 2-8 cr. Designed for upper-level athletic training students who have completed a majority of program competencies and proficiencies and are ready to apply their skills in the field. This course is also appropriate for graduate-level students who are pursuing a career in the field of athletic training.

Emergency Care for the Health Professional

ATR 125 Emergency Care for the Health Professional 2 cr.  (1-0-2) Provides students with instruction that will enable AHA Certification in CPR for the Health Care Provider. This includes certification in adult, child and infant CPR (1 person/2 person), rescue breathing, obstructed airway care, use of protective mask and bag valve and AED application. Instruction also in spine boarding, splinting, wound care, crutch use, primary survey, vital sign assessment, and OSHA compliance.
