A variable-format course with a general focus on critical reading and comparative analysis including interdisciplinary approaches. Special topics will introduce single national or transnational groupings of text, organized around such principles as genre, theme, canonicity, identity, theory and intellectual movements. Notes:

Does not satisfy the upper division liberal studies requirement. Course may be repeated if topic differs.
