Surveys formal and informal educational screening and assessment tools, guidelines, and criteria for evaluating, documenting and reporting development of individual children ages three through eight years old. The appropriateness of formal tests is discussed, as well as informal assessment practices and the purpose and uses of each. Practical experience is provided in using a variety of specific assessment devices.
