Diagnosis and Treatment Planning emphasizes a direct practice approach to social work, focused on empirical assessment techniques, goal planning, and selecting and utilizing evidence-based interventions. This course emphasizes knowledge and skill development relating to assessment, diagnosis and planning. Students will discuss assessment and treatment planning utilizing the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM), a biopsychosocial risk and resilience framework, and evidence-based practices. This course will utilize lecture, discussion, and class activities.
