The early childhood endorsement (ZA) certifies graduates to teach in pre-kindergarten through grade three classrooms (ages 0-8).
Early Childhood Endorsement
Endorsement Requirements:
- Valid State of Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate
- Successful completion of 22 credit hours/7 courses required by Northern Michigan University and approved by the Michigan Department of Education
- Completion of a 300-clock-hour field experience in two of the following: infant/toddler, pre-primary or primary school age children
- Passing score on the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) in the area of early childhood education (ZA) test No. 682. Registration materials available at www.mttc.nesinc.com.
