Independent research or study is pursued by qualified students under the supervision of a member of the Chemistry Department. Supervisor and research problem must be selected prior to enrollment in this course. A written report is required at the conclusion of this study unless the student enrolls in CH 599. If a student enrolls in CH 599, a grade of R may be awarded in CH 589 until the CH 599 course is satisfactorily completed.
