What is your NMU connection?

Before attending I was/am NMU family
I was a Faculty Brat
I was the first student to direct a main stage play during the regular school year season
I am an Award-winning alumnus
I was a Grad student
Years later community person serving as booster club president for NMU org

 

Your favorite NMU memory or story

There are several
Thinking for years that President Harden and his wife and Pres Jamrich and June were my grandparents as we did the holidays with them
The sit-in at CB Hedgecock Field House
When my dad was in his 2nd yr as NMU head basketball coach
My mom decided to exit NMU to teach high school because at that time two spouses couldn’t work in the
same department.
The dedication for my dad with a memorial wall by then Pres Appleberry state Rep Dominic Jacobetti
Receiving my Service Alumni Award for Pres Les Wong
Making sure the Panowski Black box was dedicated by NMU to him in perpetuity
Last year's homecoming reconnecting with dads players who were inducted into the NMU Sports Hall of Fame
Being Willy the wild cat for some of Dad's games
The pride that lives on in me because of the care and ambassadorship my parents instilled in my sister and myself about
being an NMU wildcat

NMU basketball and football yrs 66-86

Thanksgiving Christmas and special events at the NMU president's residence

 

Share any dorm/roommate stories you may have

I tried it for a semester but I was a faculty beat so I didn’t have to be there. It wasn’t for me. Off-campus was where it was at.


What is your current or former profession?

Actor, singer, dancer, (performer) currently employed as a floral designer


How did NMU help you get to where you are today?

I had the opportunity to work in a variety of theatrical venues from outdoor drama cruise ship theme park touring with
country music legend Kenny Rogers to regional theatre and more. NMU gave me a foot in the door. The connections are far-reaching and I will always thank NMU for my good fortune
