What is your NMU connection?
Attended 2011-2015, graduated following research in 2016.
Your favorite NMU memory or story
Battling through a snowstorm from Quad 1 to Van Antwerp to see my brother and his suitemates, losing my tie in the wind, all to change from a suit to Green & Gold for an upcoming hockey game. I don't recall who we played, whether we won or lost, but of the joy we all shared in discussing academics, ideals, and future plans in between Puckhead-led chants from the student section.
Who is the most influential person you met during your time at NMU and why were they so influential?
Mr Josh Anderson, English instructor. In a Technical & Report Writing (EN211-D) course, he both challenged, supported,
and provided opportunities to flourish my writing skills. The confidence and lessons played out over the rest of my college career, and into my professional career, and have led to the confidence to succeed in our aerospace startup small business.
Tell us about the significance of any teams, clubs or organizations you were part of during your time at NMU
Heavily involved in student government, both ASNMU and housing halls (#HuntHallBestHall!), with notable favorite other organizations including SLFP, Superior Edge, Mortar Board, Psi Chi, & QuizBowl
What is/was your favorite thing to do in Marquette?
Enjoying the lake. Whether from the peaks of Hogback & Sugarloaf, along Black Rocks & lakeshore, or downtown from
Donckers & Landmark.
Talk about any significant/memorable sporting events, weather occurrences or other on-campus activities
Make A Difference Day was always a memorable moment in the year. Whether freezing rain, light rain, or just freezing,
the day always turned into a sunny autumn day of Wildcats across Marquette where we met our neighbors, worked as
more than classmates, and gave back to the community we called home.
Share any dorm/roommate stories you may have
Building and living through our SuperSuite for our final year in the dorms. We were always happy to host and socialize
with our neighbors and new friends. With someone almost always in there, I don't think we locked the door except
Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and at final turnover at the end of the year!
What is your current or former profession?
Co-Founder & CEO of Kall Morris Incorporated (KMI), an aerospace and space logistics company founded in Marquette
and launching technology to the International Space Station (ISS) this September.
How did NMU help you get to where you are today?
NMU introduced me to my company co-founders, strengthened my ability to communicate and inspire, and reinforced the value of building community even in new areas (be it dining halls, dorms, or academic conferences). As our company has hired other Wildcats during our growth, and Marquette provided the initial incubator locale during our pandemic origin, NMU and the community around it have as much to do with the success I'm still seeing as the moon moves the tides; you might not always see it or think of it, but it's a force pushing toward distant shores.
