Meet Alexandria Bournonville, a Multimedia Journalism and English Literature major, from Peshtigo, WI. She plans to graduate in 2025.
Why did you decide to come to NMU?
It had the programs I wanted and was quite beautiful, plus it was close to home!
How did you decide your major/minor?
Through seeing what I wanted based on how I enjoyed my classes.
What's an example of a cool, interesting or helpful thing that you have done as a part of your major?
I’m currently working on a research study in my Ethnographic Field Methods class about young adult’s downtime during the pandemic!
What are you involved in on- and off-campus and what has been the most rewarding experience?
Walking with the Feminism for All crowd and everyone else in the Slut Walk to raise awareness about sexual assault and consent.
Further comments about your NMU experience:
I’ve loved being at NMU. It’s helped me come into myself as a person and I’ve made many friends who I’m so extremely grateful for.
What does “be Northern” mean to you?
It speaks to me about individuality, as it’s an umbrella term to cover what every northern student is pursuing. Everyone is doing something different, but the thing that holds us together as Northern students is dedication to our ambition.
