Meet Josh Hersh a Communications major and Psychology minor, from Milwaukee, WI. Josh plans to graduate in 2027.
Why did you decide to come to NMU?
I decided to come to NMU, because of the beautiful backdrop, and the amazing organizations that they have to offer.
How did you decide your major/minor?
I decided my major by asking myself what my true calling was, and I figured my true calling was being a sports broadcaster, which is in lines of communication.
What are you involved in on- and off-campus and what has been the most rewarding experience?
I am involved in the athletic communications department. Working some of the athletic events has given me real insight into what I might be doing after college.
What does being a Wildcat mean to you?
Being a wildcat to me means that I have my own sense of northern Michigan with me, no matter where I go.
How did you find your sense of belonging at NMU?
I found my sense of belonging at NMU by interacting with my classmates in the first week or two of classes, and attending local events, hosted by the university.
What would you tell someone who is considering coming to NMU?
I would basically tell someone who is considering coming to Northern, the campus is in a beautiful part of the UP and there are so many good opportunities for you to start your future.
