Why did you decide to come to NMU?

The location and the amount of outdoor activities available!

How did you decide your major/minor?

Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management (ORLM) is fun and came easily to me. It was exciting to connect with my professors and other outdoor professionals in the community.

What's an example of a cool, interesting or helpful thing that you have done as a part of your major?

I’ve gone rock climbing in Devils Lake WI for class
I’ve gone ice climbing in Munising MI for class
I’ve gotten to work at the Outdoor Recreation Center and get promoted to manager which is awesome to have opportunities to practice what I’m taught in classes.

What are you involved in on- and off-campus and what has been the most rewarding experience?

I work at and manage the Outdoor Rec Center on campus and I get to teach other students how to rock climb. I also get to show other ORLM students it’s possible to work in the field while still taking classes.
