Meet Natasha Symons, an Elementary Education major from Negaunee, MI. Natasha plans to graduate in 2024.
How did you decide your major/minor?
I decided on Elementary Education because I knew I had a passion for teaching, starting as early as my freshman year of high-school. Teaching makes me feel like I am helping the future of students, one step at a time. I want to change the teaching game and create a classroom full of love, learning, and education in a way that contributes to all children.
What's an example of a cool, interesting or helpful thing that you have done as a part of your major?
What are you involved in on- and off-campus and what has been the most rewarding experience?
What does “beNorthern” mean to you?
To me, it means that education is something that truly matters up here in the up. Northern does its best to accommodate to all it’s students and that’s exactly the kind of environment I want to be involved in. It’s means having a wonderful place to learn and explore, be apart of a loving community who wants you to achieve your dreams, no matter what they may be.
