HS 326 America from Revolution to Jackson 4 cr. This course examines the causes of the revolution, the course of the revolutionary war, as well as the problems faced by post-revolutionary society and the extent to which Americans continued to contest the meaning of the revolution in the early republic. The course will examine the question of a “revolutionary settlement” and the differing interpretations regarding the final settling of the American Revolution. The course will examine how the conflict of the 1770s and 1780s affected different segments of American society.
