HS 244 The American Labor Movement 4 cr. This course provides an historical perspective on the experiences of American workers, examines immigration, ethnicity, race, and gender issues within the working class, traces the origin and development of the union movement, analyzes some basic principles of labor organization and negotiation, and concludes with discussions of current issues facing American working people, such as deindustrialization and globalization.
