A developmental course; not included in the NMU grade point average calculation and not counted as earned credit hours toward certificate, associate or bachelor degrees. Topics include whole numbers, integers, decimals, fractions, ratio and proportion, percents, order of operations, and solving basic equations. Applications are emphasized. This course is intended for students who plan to study beginning algebra. This course must be passed with “B-“ or better, in order to enroll in the next course in the math sequence, MA 090 – Beginning Algebra.
