Beginning Algebra

A developmental course, applying to some diplomas and certificates but not to associate or bachelor's degrees; not included in the NMU grade point average calculation. This course is intended for students who plan to study intermediate algebra. Topics include such areas as the following: the fundamental operations of algebra, graphing, linear equations, exponents, and introductory probability and statistics. Topics include: the fundamental operations of algebra, linear equations and inequalities, exponents, radicals, and basic factoring. Applications are emphasized.
